Cut Back on Cost by Using Artificial Flowers for Your Wedding

The main reason why artificial flowers are popularly used in wedding ceremonies is because they are much more affordable than live flowers. Live flowers tend to cost much more, while they do not have long shelf lives. With artificial plants, couples can keep them for years to remember their big day.

A lot of live flowers are wasted after wedding ceremonies when they whither and dry out, only to be thrown out because they can?t be used anymore. While a few people keep dried up flowers as souvenirs, the reality is that it would be nearly impossible and unrealistic to keep the massive amounts of flowers used during a wedding ceremony. Silk flowers on the other hand can be re-used and after the wedding ceremony a couple can decide to keep a few of the flowers and sell the rest.

With silk flowers, couples are given the ability to have their floral arrangements prepared well in advance so that all their attention is placed on other aspects of the wedding planning process. They can be prepared in advance and stored in readiness for the wedding without worrying about wilting, as would be the case with real flowers. Silk flowers also travel well and couples are guaranteed that the flowers will get to the wedding venue intact. Silk flowers also provide the opportunity to create innovative floral arrangements, where real flowers would be too delicate to bed and twist in order to come up with creative floral arrangements.

Artificial flowers also keep well in different weather conditions; real flowers are susceptible to weather changes and they wilt quickly under warm weather conditions. Real flowers also require a lot of attention with regards to their maintenance, to keep them looking fresh throughout the wedding ceremony. However, silk flowers do not need constant watering or placement in direct access to sunlight like real flowers do.

A number of people usually have the concern that silk flowers cannot measure up to the authenticity of real flowers, particularly when it comes to scents. There are a wide range of scented silk flowers in the market which look as real as live flowers in every sense that it would take a closer look to tell that they weren?t the live plants.

Real flowers are seasonal and it might be difficult to find specific flowers that a couple might want to incorporate into their wedding d?cor. Artificial flowers on the other hand are available all year round and couples are guaranteed that they can always get the type of flowers that they desire to have for their wedding.

Perry pushes his status as a conservative outsider (AP)

SIOUX CITY, Iowa ? Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry, campaigning in Iowa's heavily conservative northwest corner the day before Tuesday's caucuses, urged conservatives to support one of their own who hasn't been part of the Washington and Wall Street establishments.

Perry continued to have trouble with the details as he addressed potential supporters in a Sioux City hotel lobby Monday afternoon. In challenging rival Rick Santorum's support for home-state projects funded with federal money, the Texas governor referred to "the Bridge to Nowhere in Arizona." Actually, the project that became a symbol of runaway pork-barrel spending was planned for Alaska.

Perry singled out Santorum, whose recent rise in polling appears to come at the expense of the Texas governor and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn. The three are widely seen as competing for the more conservative caucus-goers, particularly evangelicals driven by social issues, in the contest to pick a challenger to President Barack Obama.

"He's raised the debt limit more than Obama's raised the debt limit," Perry said of Santorum, pointing to the former Pennsylvania congressman and senator's eight votes to increase the nation's borrowing power.

Turning to another rival, Rep. Ron Paul, Perry said the Texas congressman's foreign policy was tantamount to "appeasement."

"We will be living in the 1930s again," he said. "Let me tell you, when Ron Paul is further to the left on foreign policy than Barack Obama, that ought to tell you something. That is a dangerous situation."

Perry challenged his rivals' potential and cited his own record as Texas' longest-serving governor in arguing for his candidacy.

"Why would you settle for anything other than an authentic conservative who will fight for your views and values and not make an apology for them, not one time?" he asked. "Are we going to replace a Democrat insider with a Republican insider and expect to get any change in Washington, D.C.?"

Continuing his core argument that he has experience creating jobs and dealing with issues that face the nation, he said: "It's easy to get up and say, `You know, gee, I wish I'd have been on the field, I would have run that touchdown in.' ... We done it in Texas."

While Perry acknowledged his struggle to rise in the polls, he likened the GOP nomination race to a marathon.

"I've run a marathon before. I felt great at mile one. As a matter of fact, I felt great at mile 17 and 18. Mile 21? You kind of start hitting that wall," he said. "We'll see who is still standing at mile 21. I finished my marathon, and I expect to finish this marathon as well."

Mindful of Christian conservatives' sway, he reminded them of his own faith.

"If you elect me president, I will take those values with me to the White House where they will be on display every day," he said. "I will make you this pact: If you have my back tomorrow at the caucuses, I'll have your back for the next four years in Washington, D.C."

Lindsay Lohan to Ring in NYE at Dubai Rager?

Despite her claims to have passed on New Year's gigs to focus on turning over a new leaf, Lindsay Lohan will ring in 2012 at a RAGING PARTY in Dubai.

So says an overseas party planning company, at least.

Lohan claims that's complete BS though, and is threatening legal action, saying they're just using her name to promote the event, according to TMZ.

Lindsay is reportedly pissed, and rightfully so, that she's been tied to a NYE bash on the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise ship in Dubai, since she ain't going.

Her always-busy legal team is pounding out a cease and desist letter claiming that she can and is prepared to sue if they continue to lie about Lohan's NYE plans.

Lohan's rep, Steve Honig, says in a statement:

"Lindsay is not going to Dubai, nor had she ever considered doing so. She will be spending New Year's Eve in L.A. with a few close friends and family."

Sorry, people of Dubai. If you want to overpay to party with a celeb who actually will show up, and be painfully boring, go check out Kim Kardashian at Tao Las Vegas.

Apple slowly gaining patents to fight its war of attrition with Android

Apple was recently awarded a multitouch patent that the company filed just before it announced the iPhone in 2007. While this patent (and others like it) may not give Apple a ?thermonuclear? option to kill Android, it might be able to aid in Apple?s ongoing legal disputes.
